I had a cataract two years ago which recently deteriorated and my other eye developed an issue which meant I couldn't see. I was already waiting to see the consultant after a scan from then, the appointment deadline had came and went. However coincidentally I received the consultant's appointment, went in, and they were brilliant. They lasered my cataract there and then and also treated my other eye. It was like a miracle as I could see again. It gave me back my independence as I can drive now.
My husband was referred to get a catheter and since then, the care has been awful. Went back to get a new one as you have to go to the hospital to see the District Nurse, there was no space so they put us in a staff room. When it first got done we got no care info in the leaflet. Trying to get through to them is like sucking eggs. It's been poor, I'm quite disappointed really. They told us that this would be the end of the problem but it has caused more, which doesn't make sense.
... situation.
... ardly stay still I was shaking so much.
The people who work there though are brilliant, I would give the 5 out of 5 .
The speed with which appointments are made and treatment schedules are made are very fast. Sometimes a little more detailed information would help the patient understand what is happening, especially when everything thing is new to them.
Lovely to be fair, I never really have a problem. There is a long waiting list but that's expected so I'm not worried about that. They're really good, it would be 5 stars if the wait was shorter.
... a month ago. I have no results and no contact from the consultant. The letter they wrote to my GP after the telephone appointment is incorrect. I did not say that I felt well or healthy. I have had abdominal pain and tummy upsets every day for 6 months. It's no wonder disabled people can't get the help and care they receive when the DWP reviews letters provided by consultants which are factually incorrect.
I couldn't have asked for better treatment on Heydon ward. The OT team, physio and neurology team saw me regularly. The medication has enabled me to improve my condition. I was on the ward for a month and they looked after me. They gave me a pack with information about my condition and all the community support groups available.
It's a lovely ward, everybody is lovely. They are doing their best for me. They give me painkillers when I'm in a lot of pain and they listen to me about how I'm feeling. They work hard. The food is good.
It's alright, it's comfortable. I can sleep OK.
