I'm in private accommodation which I can't manage now due to my health. I'm using a child's step to get over the bath to shower which isn't safe and I'm worried about falling down my stairs. I was told over the phone about 6 months ago that I need an occupational therapy assessment but I've not seen anyone and I don't know how long I'll be waiting. I feel out of control and I don't know what to do. Zero stars.

The move from children's to adult social care is like starting from scratch, it's a whole new fight for support. The biggest problem is that I face constant barriers with advocating for my son even though consent has been given by him multiple times. Follow-up emails aren't what we discussed at all and information isn't handed over.
My eldest son is 22 and still hasn't got any support from social care, he's bounced between social services and education. We go round and round.
I'll give them z
... ero stars, and I don't say that lightly.

I was desperate
One department didn't know what the other was doing, they didn't call me back. This wasn't any good when I was desperate, waiting for carers. My husband passed away before they called me.

Gross incompetence
Deprivation of liberty discharge to a care home. Care home requires improvement. Safeguarding alert raised then ignored by adult social services. Several consequent hospital readmissions later still ignored. Demonstrably against patients' best interests. Total lack of communication with whole family. SW's idea of evidence and research unprofessional - total lack of confidence and trust. Ongoing investigations with SWE, LGSCO, CQC, NCC.

Excessively Delayed Response from Adult Social Services to Referral
I was referred to Adult Social Services for a Care Act Assessment in January 2024. I did not receive any response until October 2024, by which time it was too late to be of any help.

Very supportive
My experience with them has been fantastic. I approached them for some advice over the telephone and they helped me in a timely and professional way.

We feel messed around
I feel like we've been messed around with the whole process from start to finish. They've told us that my childs needs fall under Social, Emotional, and Mental Health, but the statutory advice states cognition and learning is the main need.

They tried placing him in an SEMH placement against my parental preference and as a result we missed out on a panel for the placement we actually needed. I was also sent paper work with a different child's name and details on it.

The EHCP was sent to the
... wrong school. Our emails and phone calls are never replied to and when the school have asked them for support they never show up.

Slow, uncaring and much more concerned with their budget than the needs of those they're supposed to be caring for
I've given them as high a rating as I have because of their OT. She is incredible, and I'm so very grateful for everything she's done for me.

However, the inability for anyone else to communicate with each other or myself, to leave disabled people completely housebound and unable to access the community or health services, the incredibly low quality of agency care staff they employ, the amount of time they left a largely bedridden disabled parent without any support, and the extent to which I
... feel they don't care unless they feel they may be legally liable, is abhorrent. These people are the last people I would entrust the vulnerable to.

And when they realise they're doing something that's immoral and indefensible, they just stop replying to you.

Social Care is Norfolk's biggest problem
They should be minus 5 stars. Social Care is Norfolk's biggest problem and why the N&N is like it is.

So many patients come in here who have a Social Worker who doesn't appear to have done anything to have helped them and then when they're in hospital they drop them and it becomes our problem. They don't help people properly as they make decisions about our inpatients without ever seeing them and often ask for duplicated information.

The care homes seem like they're not regulated against pic
... king and choosing the easiest people to take. When somebody comes in here they refuse to take them back even if their care needs haven't changed.

We have no remit to push back to make them take the person so then they're stuck here for months waiting for a new placement.

Awful post adoption services
The management is really bad and lie all the time to cover up their wrong doing. Social workers do not write proper report and crucial information is missing.

When adopted parents make a complaint, the management, instead of looking properly into the problem, do nothing to resolve the situation because that will be admitting their wrong doing. So, instead of improve their services, the management decides not to investigate the issue, leaving adopted children without proper reports or later lif
... e letters.

The support received by this teammanagement is non-existent.
